Saletin Real Estate Group recently acquired Foxfield Plaza and is proposing to redevelop the 19-acre site at 369 Central Street in Foxborough into a mixed-use development called Forbes Crossing, according to a joint press release from Saletin and Diprete Engineering.
The plans include the demolition of the existing Foxfield Plaza shopping center currently located at the site.
The new development program will include three pad sites, more than 46,000 square feet of retail space, and a 139-room hotel.
“There is a lot of excitement among officials and community members about the Forbes Crossing proposal, and with good reason,” said Jeffrey Saletin, president of Saletin Real Estate Group, based in Cranston, Rhode Island. “Our proposal for a mixed-use site will bring activity into the area.”
The redevelopment site on the Foxborough/Mansfield line is within a few miles of businesses and entertainment venues. Only 11 minutes from Gillette Stadium and 10 minutes from the Xfinity Center, Forbes Crossing is across from Cabot Business Park, one of the largest business parks in New England, and is steps from Meditech’s new 200,000 square foot office building and GE’s 200,000 square foot office building.
“The Town of Foxborough is truly excited to see the former Foxfield Plaza redeveloped into the “new” Forbes Crossing Development,” Foxboro Town Manager William G. Keegan, Jr. said. “For many years the town has seen this property considered for redevelopment and the concept and strategy of Forbes Crossing has all of the necessary elements for a highly successful venture.”
In addition to three pads sites for offices, the proposal includes two restaurants or a bank and a restaurant.
“The Town of Foxborough is geographically located in the middle of the two state capital cities of Boston and Providence and there is a growing interest in developing this area,” added Keegan. “As such, the elements of enhancing some existing businesses, new restaurants, and new hotel space associated with the Forbes Crossing design is consistent with the economic demands that are rapidly emerging in this area. The town appreciates the quality and design that the Saletin Group has reflected in the Forbes Crossing Development.”
